“You can never be overdressed or overeducated”
OSCAR WILDE
It is no secret that I have a love for fashion! Although most of the time you will find me in a pair of sweatpants and sweatshirt, I do enjoy the experience of shopping and putting together an outfit that I love and feel good in! This adventure most of the times means a day out with the girls. Whether it be my sister or a group of high school friends, sweet memories are always made spending these days together conversing, laughing, eating, sipping wine, trying out clothes, and yes… spending a little bit of money:) Fashion to me can be such an artistic experience and is tied directly to the identity of a person. Many of us can agree, that we just feel better when we put together an outfit that we love and feel represents who we are and what we’re about!
In this section of my website, I would love to share all things fashion! I will begin with this introductory blog, which includes two fashion lessons I have learned, along with my top ten favorite places to shop! So first, my fashion lessons! I soaked up these lesson on the same day, at the same store, shopping with my sister. They are somewhat lighthearted, but also hold some important meaning.
Fashion Lesson Number #1: The Event Will Find You
My sister and I were on a shopping trip and found ourselves where we normally spend quite a bit of time, in the Anthropologie dressing room. We were both trying on outfits and conversing about what we wanted to purchase. The lady in the dressing room helping us was the perfect mix of quirky and cool. My sister had this beautiful dress on and said to me, “I love it, but don’t know where I would ever wear it to.” The Anthropologie clerk quickly looked at her and said,
“No worries darling, the event will find you!”

Fashion Lesson Number #2: You Are The Reason
It was my turn to try something on and model it for my sister. I walked out of the dressing room to show my sister and immediately said, “It is so cute, but I don’t have a reason to buy this.” Again, this clerk looked up and said,
“Oh honey, you are the reason!”

These lessons are a bit two fold for me. On one end, they are just a fun and interesting way to think about making fashion purchases:) On the other end, they hold some major truth to a bigger theme for many. Why do we as women tend to second guess everything? Why must we have a reason behind it all and then immediately start to justify why it was ok? Of course my message is not to purchase everything in sight and spend all the money! However, once in awhile, buy the damn dress and own it with all the confidence in the world!
You deserve it!
Next, if you are wondering where to “buy the damn dress” to rock later, here are some of my top shopping spots. Enjoy and Happy Shopping!
