My Story
Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Dr. Erin Peterson and I am so grateful you stopped by! In this site, you will find all things that make up who I am and what I am about. I hope you enjoy your time here! I currently reside in Grand Forks, ND. My passion is education and I have played many roles in this field for the past 18 years. When my daughter, Everly was born however, I was introduced to a whole new world of education, allowing me to think beyond the walls of a classroom.
Meet Everly
Everly was born in 2015, and shortly after birth, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare and complex syndrome called Megacystis Microcolon Intestinal Hypoperistalsis Syndrome (see mmihs.org for more information). In fact, we were told the statistics of her syndrome was about 1 in 240,000,000 and that we had a better chance of winning the lottery. The ironic thing is, we did in fact win the lottery with this sweet soul who has taught me so much about life! I am excited for you to meet her, and learn about our story through this site!
About This Website
My inspiration for this website is a combination of all Everly and my educational experiences have taught me. The two paired together are what motivated me to write my first book titled "When the Going Gets Tough." The purpose of this book is to provide children with research-based strategies and practice in creating their own happiness. I am excited to finally share it with the world and believe it will have a positive impact on the mental well-being of children! Books can be purchased at whenthegoinggetstoughguide.com. Lastly, I believe in living a well balanced life as much as possible. Apart from my time spent writing, educating, and advocating, I enjoy many other things, some of which are also included in this site (home decor, travel, fashion, health and wellness, and entertainment). Whatever it is you have come here for, I truly hope that you leave having gained so much more. I also hope you will return soon. All are welcome and embraced by me. Thanks for stopping!
